Develop a change strategy plan using current knowledge about the CNL role to influence the overall system through implementing and incorporating a change in the current microsystem structure.
The purpose of this essay is to provide students with an experience to apply leadership and/or change theory and strategies to an actual change opportunity of creating and potentially implementing a change within a health care microsystem. This is a scholarly paper that is worth about a significant portion of the grade. Please allow enough time to plan and write it with that in mind.
This assignment is for students to develop a change strategy plan using current knowledge about the CNL role to influence the overall system through implementing and incorporating a change in the current microsystem structure. Ideally, this change strategy paper will become part of the students final semester CNL internship experience. The headings to be used for the essay listed below and are to address questions in fully developed paragraphs. You have already completed the Background, System Setting, and CNL Role section in Part 1. Start Part 2 with the Change Theory section and proceed with the Action Plan section, the Evaluation section, and the Conclusion section. The Action Plan section must include at minimum of one appendix page with an illustration (typically a chart) that includes a timeline for your plan, the steps of the theory that support your plan, and the specific steps on your plan.
If you did not create a title for your Part 1 submission, you need to do that now. It is a real skill to choose a title that will be concise, yet fully inform your readers what to expect in your paper.
What change theory/model and or leadership theory will you apply to your overall system setting/situation? Using your own words summarize the theory for the reader. How would you apply the change and/or leadership theory? What is your analysis of the system setting and its readiness for change? (Please hesitate prior to using Lewin\’s three step model of change. This theory was developed in the early 1950s. Ask yourself if it really fits for guiding a change in today\’s complex healthcare environment.) Your change theory must be referenced. You may need to use a secondary source, but a primary (original source) is preferable.
