7-minute Informative Speech

Objective:
1. Develop a focused, organized, and college students audience-centered informative speech.
2. Research and present a minimum of 6 EbscoHost and/or ProQuest sources as support. Sources will be assessed on credibility, depth, relevance, and currency.
3. Cite sources appropriately in APA format when referred to in the speech and on outline.
4. Write a detailed speech outline with citations and an annotated bibliography with all sources summarized.

Approach:
In a 7-minute presentation, you will inform the audience on a topic to which you are enthusiastically knowledgeable. The objective is to teach your audience about your topic.

it is essential that your facts are verifiable. If we cant verify it–it doesnt count. Published sources are more likely to be verifiable, have fact checkers, an editor, and a reputation to uphold.

They will also give the reader many different types of support

Cite your sources in both YOUR OUTLINE and YOUR speech. It is imperative to give credit to the source when paraphrasing as well as directly quoting. You must include an annotated bibliography and have all 6 sources summarized .

Audience attention can be achieved by crafting your speech for the audience. Ask yourself: what is the relevance of your topic to the audience? Visual aids can help the audience, but remember to keep them big enough for impact, use limited information on them, and use them to help the presentation

Tip: Dont forget the audience.

A FULL SENTENCE OUTLINE. The outline is 60% of your speech grade.
